outline for a 30-45 minute prayer rooms
(all times are approximate and flexible)

prayer guide #1

Open - Prayers of worship, gratitude, thankfulness (5 minutes)

Praying the Word - lectio divina - (10 minutes)

  • For example: "Today, we will be praying Psalm 103 over our lives. I will read it slowly and then pray over us and then read it one more time."

Prayers of Intercession (10 minutes)

  • We use our authority as priests to come boldly before the throne of God and cry out for the promises God has given us in His Word to come to pass

  • These are focused times of prayer where we contend for certain things/topics/events/people groups, etc.

    • The staff will present a list of intercession focuses you can choose from

  • Remember, during these times of prayer we want to make sure our prayers, thoughts, and ideas align with scripture and God's kingdom, not our own opinions, ideas, or viewpoints

Spirit-led prayers and responses: (10 minutes)

  • The people on the call pray as they feel the Spirit is leading or share a Spirit-inspired thought with the group

prayer guide #2

Prayers of silence, meditation, and contemplation (10 minutes)

  • During this time we make ourselves aware of the Spirit moving by being silent and positioning ourselves to hear and receive

Prayers for the lost (10 minutes)

  • Pray for our world - nation - state - city - community - and individual people in our lives

  • Have people type out the name in the comment section of specific people or people groups we want to pray for

Praying the Word (10 minutes)

  • For example: "Today, we will be praying Ephesians 1:18-23 over our lives just like Paul prayed it over the lives of the church in Ephesus. I will read it slowly and then pray over us and then read it one more time."

Prayers for closing (5 minutes)

  • Ask 1-2 people to close out our time by praying what they feel the Spirit of God leading them to pray for.
